Stoeklin solar pool heating system, Chelan, WA

The Stoeklins wanted to use only solar heating for their new pool. Their existing garage, where the pool pump and filter would be located, had a south facing roof with excellent solar exposure and space for the necessary number of FAFCO solar collectors. The Stoeklin’s solar array consists of five 4’ x 12’ solar collectors that provide all their pool heating needs from early spring (April) through late fall (October).

The automatic control valve sends pool water through the solar array when there is sun and the pool needs heat.
