Photovoltaic (PV) modules, which produce electricity from the sun, are the most costly form
of renewable energy ($.25 to $.35 per kWh).
Currently PV modules convert from 15% to 20% of the sun’s energy to electricity.
More efficient and economical PV modules are being developed all the time.
Building Integrated Photovoltiac (BIPV) modules that “peel and stick” to flat pan,
standing seam metal roofing are also available and make PV arrays unobtrusive.

For grid tied systems where space is available, a tracker mounted array, that moves the array to
face the sun throughout the day, can increase annual energy production by up to 40%.
For off grid applications a fixed array is generally recommended for best winter power production at least cost.
We can perform a site assessment and install an appropriate grid tie or
off grid (Living Off Grid.pdf) PV system to meet your needs.
In Chelan County, the Chelan County PUD (www.chelanpud.org/snap) Sustainable Natural Alternative Power (SNAP) (SNAP Synopsis.pdf) program
will purchase power from your grid tied PV system for up to $1.50/kWh! We pay only $.028/kWh for grid power.
You can earn more than you pay for your annual electric bill!
If you are not located in Chelan County, ask your utility if they have a similar renewable energy buy back program.
In addition, PV power Green Tags (environmental attributes) can be sold for $.05/kWh.
